How to Prepare for NTSE (MAT - Mental Ability Test)

The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national level scholarship program to identify talented students from India's pool of secondary school and nurture their talent. 

The exam is conducted at two levels: 

Stage-I : State Level.

Stage-II : National Level. 

To qualify for Stage-II, students need to secure 40% (General/OBC category) and 32% (SC/ST/Physically challenged) respectively each in MAT and SAT in Stage-I examination.

The NTSE has two papers, Paper-I: Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Paper-II: Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students currently enrolled in class 10 from any recognized school/board are eligible to apply for stage 1 of the NTSE exam.
  • Only Indian students are allowed to appear for NTSE stage 1 exam.
  • Students studying outside India can directly appear in stage 2 exam.
Syllabus
NTSE Exams covers the topic from Class 9 and class 10 for below subjects.
  • MAT
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Social Science
